A signalman’s daughter operates the railroad telegraph. When villains tear up the railroad tracks, she races by handcar to warn the station ahead of the danger. The crash is averted and the culprits captured, due to her brave actions.

A struggling café owner and waiter are delighted when tourists order an extravagant feast. The party does the “dine and dash” to the dismay of the restaurateur. But a messenger shows up with payment and a big tip, and all is well.

A young girl enamored of the theater delivers laundry to a stage actress. When the building catches fire, the girl rescues the unconscious actress and is herself burned. Years later, the girl is an actress with a doting benefactress.

The mayor hires a group of picketing suffragettes to replace striking firemen. The young women get soaking wet at the hands of pranksters and decide that fighting fires is not for them.

Eastern girl Mary looks down her nose at the western ranch hands. While out riding with a neighboring rancher, rogue Native Americans ambush her. Her riding partner makes a dummy of Mary’s skirt, jacket and hat, attaching it to a horse. The Indians race after it. The cowboys chase off the Indians, recover the embarrassed woman’s clothes, and she admits that they are her heroes.

The crusading newspaper editor lashes out against gambling. His son is bilked by gamblers of all his money and he is forced to write a bad check that will bounce. Brave daughter Mary races to the bank to give her entire college fund to make the check good. Chastened brother vows to work to repay her.

Tony the ranch hand hopelessly loves the rancher’s daughter. When he overhears a plot by Mexican bad guys to attack the ranch, he races to warn the owner, and fights bravely with the cowboys, until he is mortally wounded.

Teenage Billy worships cowboy Jim, who has a crush on Madge. A bad guy assaults the woman, and Jim knocks the miscreant down. The bad guy and his gang seek revenge on Jim and Billy overhears their plot. Jim is kidnapped and taken to a remote location where the baddies plan to crush him with a boulder. Billy alerts Madge and the ranch hands who race to the rescue. Billy is proud to have saved his pal.

Wastrel rich boy Bob is sent to a Texas ranch by his exasperated parents. Bob forces his manservant to switch places, thinking it will be easier to play ranch hand. Bob faces hard work and hazing by the cowboys but earns their respect. The valet is obnoxious and disliked by everyone. Bob earns the affection of the rancher’s daughter, and the valet receives his comeuppance from the cowboys.

When Nell’s mother collapses with heatstroke, the doctor announces that only the application of an icepack will save her. Nell rides hellbent for leather to town for ice and encounters many obstacles. She returns home with a small chunk sufficient to revive her mother.

A visiting British snob pushes his attentions on rancher’s daughter Mary. When he strikes Mary’s little brother, she and the ranch hands decide to humiliate him by dressing her little brother Bobby in her clothes and convincing Percy that he can elope with “her.” Mary and her real boyfriend race to the Justice of the Peace. Belatedly, Percy discovers trick and is roundly kicked down the road by the ranch hands.

The resourceful sheriff develops a plan to capture incorrigible bad guy Red Rube by disguising himself as an unarmed tenderfoot. Dressed as a rube, he takes a photograph of the surprised crook with a trick camera that shoots a liquid into his eyes, stunning him and enabling him to be taken into custody.

A ranch foreman covets the housekeeper’s daughter, who actually loves the new puncher. The foreman frames the puncher for theft. When the foreman is mortally injured in an accident, he confesses his crime, and the lovers are soon happily married.

An old prospector loses all his money to a gambler. The prospector’s daughter falls in love with the gambler without knowing his blame. When the daughter learns of his atonement, she reunites with the reformed gambler.

Seeing a horse thief about to be hanged, Mary Jane’s pity leads her to kiss him. He escapes and comes to her home where she hides him. Realizing that finding him there would compromise her reputation, he turns himself in. He is again about to be hanged when a man indebted to Mary Jane intercedes.

Crossing the river into Mexico, Mary sees a Mexican woman being assaulted. She pulls a pistol on the attacker and takes the woman home with her. The man comes back with a gang and lays siege to the house. Mary climbs to the roof and using the “Wigwag” technique of flag signals, calls for help from the nearby army base. The soldiers come to the rescue and the rapist gets his just desserts.

A railroad man from the east suffers a fall and is nursed to health in a small cabin by a man and his wife. Years later, after the wife’s death, the railroad company tries to force the old man to move. The railroad man is now the president of the line and when he is reunited with his friend, he arranges for the track to leave a wide berth around the resting place of the old man’s wife.

Bessie’s sweetheart Steve is about to be hanged for a murder he didn’t commit. A mentally impaired boy finds a bullet from Steve’s gun that exonerates him. Bessie races on horseback to free her lover, and the real killer is arrested.
